Enemies. Enemies are usually depicted as villains, formidable ones who often get in your way, a wrench in your works.
I think an enemy is anyone who works against you - it might well be circumstance that you are enemies, purely an incident of pathways. You may even like the other person outside of that agenda, but sometimes it can be unfortunate that people become enemies.
That's not to say that there won't be a particular person with agendas against you, no. It's to say that enemies aren't just people who are familiar. Of course, common public enemies will be the biblical evil one, Hitler, Bin Laden. But an enemy exists when I need the table over here and you prefer the table in the next room, and we may not even know each other.
The enemy has many faces, but the results tend to be the same. Enemies cause you anger, frustration, hurt - and a plethora of many other ugly and painful emotions - and bring out the nastiness in you.
Enemies.
More often than not, is a cause of circumstance, for nobody would willingly want enemies. Enemies are suffered, often not looked-for.
But enemies, they also serve another purpose. Refining. They test the person, like how a pitching fork needs to be struck before it sings out a true note. I refuse to be ugly, to be nasty. I'm still trying to song that one true note I am meant to sing if I were struck.
Enemies also bring out charm.
...it is a human right to be angry, sad, disappointed and such, but by George I pray I will not be riled to curse. Curses will not be my one true note.
I am sorry if I had been your enemy. I am sorry, at the same time honoured. I'd rather we function as a team and in the same direction, but I'm sure we will have our chances.
Meanwhile, let's you and me both give this our best shot and sing out best note ever yet. God bless you.
