When You Meet Forever.

I went on an accidental date yesterday. It was everything a date should be: spontaneous, curious, exciting, new. Accidental.

Conversation was comfortable-casual, intellectual connection was good though I do feel he's very much smarter than I am. Accommodating, he insisted he was. He may well be, though I suspect it is already his nature to do so. He was duly bullied.

The evening made me think of a friend's words (on an entirely different timeline and topic altogether), "What if it's forever?"

I wondered. Is it possible to meet forever?

Depends. Forever lies in the moment shared. That the moment you had, when your eyes caught his and you both understood what it meant - that's the forever that stays with you.

Perhaps I have no concept of what forever means, but forevers often aren't enough, even when it lasts a lifetime. But the ones that lasts for a day, a moment... forever's best when it lasts a moment.

A little like how the best part of Christmas truly lies in the wait.

Christmas comes, oh it comes. But meanwhile, I've had a moment of forever.
