I personally feel that there's nothing wrong with marrying well. After all, there are the obvious perks, and the not-so-obvious ones, like not having to worry about the material, always having time, fancy cakes, cars, chauffeurs. And having time, lots and lots and lots of time, to do the things you are passionate about.
But strangely (though it is different between individuals), with the lack of a need, suddenly the fighting spirit gets extinguished, and the creativity gets extinguished along with it - cause face it, most humans are lazy. Like, srsly.
It's important - vital - to keep passions alive. Keep the independence going, cause that makes you strong, and strength gives you balls and balls make you interesting. Because you now need to be conquered and won, again.
...actually it just prevents your brain from turning into mush and your personality to the depth of a piece of paper.
But yeah. Independence - not for pride nor feminism's sakes - but a muse is only a muse when it is interesting, and continues to be a muse when it continues to be interesting. It's hard to be interesting when you're thoroughly dependent. Between the caged peacock and the wild prowling leopard, which will you rather watch, and stalk?
Cruel, but true. Just see the video below.
She's admirable for agreeing to do this clip and shedding light into the truth that is in a lot of relationships, but perhaps she is more dependent than the average woman. I'm pretty sure that she will become more independent. Praying for you, sister!
Disclaimer: nothing against the tai tai in the clip, in fact I admire her for humanising tai tais and being brave enough to be vulnerable. My point is: marrying rich isn't all sunshine and roses. If you married for love and found money... well, you know how some can turn out. Meanwhile though, here's wishing you an awesome ride ahead!
